We read Husserl's Crisis book this year (details below).
Academic Year 2023–24: Husserl, The Crisis of European Science and Transcendental Phenomenology
We have decided to read this late important work by Husserl in the coming acacemic year. Details below.
We will meet as usual fortnightly on Wednesdays at 5pm UK time by zoom. We will begin our meetings in late September or early October. For the zoom link, please contact alex.samely@manchester.ac.uk.
We will read the work in English, although some of us will read it in the original as well.
Final meeting on Kant's Critique of the Power of Judgment
Our final meeting of the academic year will take place on Wed 31 May at 5pm.
We will discuss the second half of the "First Introduction" (Guyer and Matthews, pp. 28–51), and review suggestions from the group on what to read next academic year.

Kant's Critique of the Power of Judgment
Date of next meeting: Wed 26 April at 5pm (zoom).
We will discuss the remaining sections of the book up to the end, p. 346 in Guyer.
This will leave time for us to read in May/June meetings the "First" version of the Introduction, first drafted by Kant, but left unpublished during his life time (Guyer pp. 1-51 ).
